Bipolar Ionisation

Bipolar Ionisation

Bipolar Ionisation (BPI) reduces airborne viruses,  including the Coronvirus/Covid-19, thus helping to cleanse the air we breathe. BPI products are mounted in centralised air conditioning systems. As in nature, when air flows through the system, it results in the formation of millions of negative and positive ions.  These charged atoms attach to and help deactivate harmful substances such as bacteria, mould, allergens and viruses as they disperse through the occupied space within the duct system.

This tried and tested system is safe, low maintenance, easy-to-install and energy efficient. Importantly, it is highly effective against a wide range of pollutants such as bacteria, mould spores, viruses, odors, and VOCs.

AMV Systems is proud to partner Gibbons Engineering to market and sell the Plasma Air range of BPI products in Ireland.

The BPI range are commercial quality units that fit seamlessly into both new and existing HVAC systems.

Independent Tests show that Air Ionisation Reduces Viruses

Testing carried out by Tayra and backed by the Spanish Ministry of Defense Biological Laboratory in Spain has proven the effectiveness of Plasma Air Ionization technology in the reduction of MS2 Bacteriophage, a surrogate for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), in indoor environments. There is mounting research to suggest that clean, disinfected air plays a vital role in preventing the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19. Benefits of BPI Technology

BPI technology has been around a long time. Available in Europe for a number of decades, it first arrived in the US in the 1970’s largely in the food manufacturing industry.

  • Helps reduce bacteria, viruses and mould
  • Eliminates smells, chemicals and smoke
  • Suitable for a wide range of applications
  • Perfect for new and existing AHUs
  • Totally automated and chemical free
  • Simple to install
  • Operates independently or in an integrated solution

Applications

BPI is an effective solution that aides the improvement of indoor air quality in a wide range of settings such as:

  • Hospitals
  • Schools
  • Health Centres
  • Nursing Homes
  • New Construction Sites
  • Offices
  • Hotels

Product Range

Protection of your ducted AC systems and occupied spaces using our duct mounted bipolar ionisation system (BPI  7000)

The 7000 series needlepoint air ion generators are commercial quality units intended for installation in AHUs or duct systems for commercial applications. The number of units and the quantity of the ionization outlets are dependent on the airflow in the system and the severity of the indoor air pollution problem.

Plasma Bipolar Ionisation 7000
Bipolar Ionisation Plasma Bar
Protection of your ducted AC systems and occupied spaces using our AHU mounted bipolar ionisation system (BPI PLASMA BAR)

The Plasma BAR is a commercial quality, remote mounted needlepoint ion generator intended for installation in AHUs and rooftop units (RTU). The Plasma BAR is available in lengths of 18 inches up to 96 inches in 6-inch increments to suit a wide variety of AHU or RTU size applications.

Protection of your Thermal Wheels and occupied spaces using our AHU mounted bipolar ionisation system (BPI PLASMA BAR-X)

The Plasma BAR-X is a commercial quality, needlepoint ion generator intended for installation on the upstream side of the cooling coil in AHUs and RTUs. The Plasma BAR-X is available in lengths of 18 inches up to 144 inches in custom lengths to suit a wide variety of AHUs or RTUs size applications dependent on the internal cross- sectional dimensions of the applicable AHU or RTU coil and the severity of the indoor air pollutants.

Bipolar Ionisation Plasma Bar X
Bipolar Ionisation PA600
Protection of your occupied spaces using our Ceiling cassette or FCU mounted bipolar ionisation system (BPI PA600)

Our 600 series are needlepoint brush type ionizers producing an equal amount of positive and negative ions neutralizing harmful pollutants and odours. This self-balancing unit is highly versatile as it may be installed at the fan inlet of an air handling unit, fan coil unit, PTAC, heat pump and a VRF ductless split system.
